The Girl Behind the Lens!

Welcome to Amy Symes Photography, a blog showcasing recent work to both current and potential clients!

A little bit about me...

I am a wife and mother of a beautiful baby girl, passionate about art, culture, travel and good food (though, it couldn't hurt if I spent more time in the kitchen!) and of course, photography!

I'm a hopeless romantic with an eye for detail and a great desire to capture those tender, candid moments shared between couples on their wedding day, expectant parents anticipating the arrival of a special someone and families spending precious time together. My ultimate goal is to share your love stories through photography.

Have a look around! Here on the blog you'll find my most recent work or head over to my website/ online portfolio to check out the galleries. Additonally, if you are a bride or couple planning a wedding, be inspired by fresh ideas and real weddings on Wedding Envy .  There you will also find local vendors and other resources!

Think we're a good fit?  Please contact me using the blog or website submission form or at symes (dot) amy (at) gmail (dot) com   (written this way to prevent spammers!)

If you'd like to receive email notifications when I've added a new post,  enter your email under the "subscribe" tab!  I proimse, you won't be disappointed!

Looking forward to working with you!

Sincerely,

Amy

Maternity Marathon!

I am a little behind blogging these recent maternity sessions, as both mamas have recently had their babies, but really wanted to share a few bellies with you anyway!!  Both sessions were done when the ladies were around 37-39 weeks!   It was cutting it close, but we did it and thankfully nobody went into labour during the sessions!!

Rob and Daria

I’ll start with my BFF Daria and her husband, Rob.  I was so thrilled when Daria and Rob asked me to do some pictures for them, as I’d secretly hoped they would!  Daria and Rob announced that they were expecting very soon after Andrew and I discovered we were expecting, so it is very exciting that we are off for a whole year together!! In fact, to celebrate, Daria and I will be sipping mimosas and enjoying pancakes tomorrow, which marks the first day of school!  No stress this year!!

On  August 16th  (if I remember correctly), Rob and Daria brought a little man into the world!  They named him Victor Michael.  He will go by Michael or “Mikey” as they affectionately call him!  Andrew and I have only been over once so far to meet the newest member of team Borland and I must say, he is pretty darn cute!  I’m hoping to see those eyes open tomorrow and will be sure to take some pics of the little man with Lauren as well!!

Congratulations Rob and Daria, we are so very excited for you both! Michael–you are very blessed to have two parents as wonderful as your mommy and daddy!!

So happy!

Adriano and Paula welcome Baby # 2!

You may remember the Palumbo family http://www.amysymes.com/blog/mary-had-a-little-lamb/ from last year–Paula and Adriano asked me to do some photos of their little girl Mary, as well as some family shots!  As it turns out, the Palumbo’s have grown by two feet!! Recently they welcomed another baby girl to their family and I was asked again (thank you!) to shoot Paula’s tummy!! She was also just a few weeks away from her due date at the time of the session!! Thank you Paula and Adriano for inviting me back to your home and congratulations again on the birth of Veronica!
