The Girl Behind the Lens!

Welcome to Amy Symes Photography, a blog showcasing recent work to both current and potential clients!

A little bit about me...

I am a wife and mother of a beautiful baby girl, passionate about art, culture, travel and good food (though, it couldn't hurt if I spent more time in the kitchen!) and of course, photography!

I'm a hopeless romantic with an eye for detail and a great desire to capture those tender, candid moments shared between couples on their wedding day, expectant parents anticipating the arrival of a special someone and families spending precious time together. My ultimate goal is to share your love stories through photography.

Have a look around! Here on the blog you'll find my most recent work or head over to my website/ online portfolio to check out the galleries. Additonally, if you are a bride or couple planning a wedding, be inspired by fresh ideas and real weddings on Wedding Envy .  There you will also find local vendors and other resources!

Think we're a good fit?  Please contact me using the blog or website submission form or at symes (dot) amy (at) gmail (dot) com   (written this way to prevent spammers!)

If you'd like to receive email notifications when I've added a new post,  enter your email under the "subscribe" tab!  I proimse, you won't be disappointed!

Looking forward to working with you!

Sincerely,

Amy

Andrew’s Big 3-0!

Wow, so it’s been ages it seems since I’ve blogged and now I’ve got a fresh new looking blog!  The summer has been busy but relaxing at the same time, which is the way it should be really!  Andrew celebrated his 30th on the 24th and I turned 29 on the 28th.  To celebrate, we gathered some friends at Lonestar’s in Kanata for dinner.  Andrew didn’t know that there were a few surprises in store for him–first, Chris Pillsworth, an Ottawa magician, who put on a great show for us! Also, I ordered a special cake for him from the Cake Shop–3D Rabbit in the Hat cake! We still have a whole bottom layer frozen! Here are some photos from the party.

I scanned some childhood pictures of Andrew and compiled a little “30th” birthday album to pass around at the party :)

Chris Pillsworth–did a great job!

He got the guests in on the action.  Here’s Chuck trying to figure out just how Chris pulled the rings apart!!  He thinks they’re broken!

I asked Chris before the party if he could make Andrew a special balloon top hat–as you can see, the sky’s the limit!!  There had to be some element of birthday embarassment afterall

Andrew and Chris–I definitely did not know they’d both be wearing this shade of green!!

And last but not least, another shot of that sweet cake (pun intended!) and me and my old hubby
